CalBright Ventures Inc.

Marilyn smallMarilyn Bright - Marilyn’s background as an instructional designer and accredited business communicator has led her through a career as a communications specialist in Vancouver, Buenos Aires and Calgary.

She brings fresh interest and creative energy to each new CalBright project, whether developing a workplace safety training program or writing a documentary film script. She enjoys tackling unfamiliar topics, and takes pleasure in lifelong learning.

Marilyn has the entrepreneurial drive to help build CalBright Ventures into the foremost creator of TDG and WHMIS materials in Canada, and the vision to steer the company in new directions.

Kairiin smallKairiin Bright – Kairiin has spent a good many years of her adult life “playing” in the theatre. After completing her master’s degree in Design for the Theatre, she taught for six years at Montreal’s Concordia University. She served on the executive of her national organization for 10 years while working as a freelance designer in many parts of Canada.

She and Marilyn began writing together in 2004, working on a play set in the Yukon. They continue to write as a team on CalBright projects, with Glen and Ron providing editorial advice. Kairiin is also responsible for creating storyboards for documentaries and sketching the first draft of illustrations for print and online programs.

Kairiin loves new adventures and her position in CalBright allows her to explore the world while putting her creative muscles to work on projects in places like Iceland and Manitoba.

Ron smallRonald Robertson - Ron is a Professional Geologist, and joined CalBright after a successful career in international mineral exploration in Canada, USA, Mexico and South America. He brings extensive project management skills to the mix, with experience coordinating multi-million-dollar programs.

He was responsible for overseeing the translation and production of the French-language versions of the recent WHMIS and TDG publications, and keeps the rest of the team on track with his financial oversight.

Ron has taken on a new role as camera operator for CalBright’s latest ventures.

Glen smallGlen Thorsteinson – Glen’s extensive computer knowledge and marketing skills are great assets to CalBright. With over 30 years of experience in teaching and coordinating small groups and large events, Glen’s strengths also include strong management and presentation skills.

His unique artistic sensibility comes from his background as a curator in an Ontario art gallery where he coordinated single and multi-artist exhibitions. Perhaps it also comes from his Icelandic heritage and his strong connection to that fascinating landscape.

Glen loves people. Turn him loose in a crowd and he’ll make a dozen new friends before the rest of us finish our first conversation. He’ll try to help anyone solve any problem, whether it’s their computer giving them grief – or their pet parrot.
