WHMIS – Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System

We built our suite of training materials around WHMIS – Tell Me Your Story, a ground-breaking video that uses real stories and real people to inspire employees to work safely with hazardous materials. The WHMIS publications also include a handbook, self-teach program, online course, instructor’s manual and teaching aids.

The French DVD is called SIMDUT – Raconte-moi ton histoire, and all the print and online programs are also published in French.

These WHMIS and SIMDUT products are distributed across the country by Danatec Educational Services and in Quebec by CFT Canada.

CalBright and Danatec have been honoured by several awards for WHMIS – Tell Me Your Story and the other materials in the WHMIS suite.

Other Projects

We’re in the midst of several new ventures, including these documentary films:

  • the recent wave of Icelanders leaving their economically-troubled country, many of them to settle in Canada (follow our progress on our film blog.)
  • Glen Thorsteinson’s exploration of his Icelandic heritage
  • the captivating and inspiring story of Barry Weatherall, blinded 11 years ago in a workplace accident, who made a brief appearance in WHMIS – Tell Me Your Story

We're also working to update, improve and expand the WHMIS and TDG publications. All these projects keep us far too busy for now, but we're looking forward to the time and opportunity to explore other new ventures.
